**PENDA PACK-COLUMBUS 1992**

by RobbyH14

"This is what I like to see...a bunch of class 2, 2.5, and 3 monsters battling it out on a long straight line course...this is real racing."
												-Betrayal88

I've always wanted to do a whole bunch of PENDA tracks, and this is going to be the first in a series of PENDA tracks that I'll call my "PENDA track pack," similar to Betrayal's idea and truck pack. I figured if he's gonna represent the PENDA series so well with trucks, then we might as well have SOMETHING to race them on...not many PENDA series replicas are out there, in fact, I can't think of more than a couple at all. I enjoy all kinds of monster truck racing, and the PENDA era was one of my favorites because it promoted fair, honest racing-bring your best and take on the best. Maybe some people will appreciate this track for what it is (A nice, fast, accurately made replica) and not for what it isn't (Freestyle)...that's my hope anyway...enjoy!

*INFORMATION*

This particular PENDA race was held in 1992 and 1993 (that's how my tapes were dated anyway...lol...two races in '92 and one in '93), and it was a very controversial one at that. On one day of racing, which is the main one I'll focus on and give the lineup for, the finals came down to Eldon Depew (yes, THAT Eldon Depew) in Taurus against Fred Shafer in his brand new Dodge Bearfoot. Taurus had lost four wheel drive a couple of runs ago, but when it came time to get ready for the finals, the MTRA officials stepped in and asked the crew chief and owner, Jack Willman Sr., what the deal was with the two-wheel drive...a heated argument ensued, because the rulebook was apparently a bit unclear about what to do in a situation such as this. Willman Sr. eventually won the argument, and Taurus went to the line with two-wheel drive against the brand new Bearfoot, who had an oil leak but had still been dominating all day. Bearfoot won easily, but red-lighted, giving an elated Depew and Taurus the win for the day.

In case you want to run the race the way it was actually run, the trucks at the event were as
follows:
1. Bigfoot 10 (Andy Brass)
2. Snake Bite (Colt Cobra)
3. Carolina Crusher (Gary Porter)
4. Tropical Thunder (Wayne Smozanek)
5. Bearfoot (Fred Shafer)
6. Keystone Kruncher (Dan Patrick)
7. Equalizer (David Morris)
8. Moving Violation (Brian Welch)
9. Nitemare (Steve Hess)
10. King Krunch 7 (Scott Stephens)
11. Taurus (Eldon Depew)
12. No Problem (John Moore)

NOTE-I have included two versions of this track-A regular racing version with no checkpoints for drag leagues, and also a computer-raceable version for offline people:). Just make sure that you start out in the right lane for the computer-raceable version, or else you won't be able to race the computer. Make sure you set your number of opponents to 1!

****IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE ANYTHING OF MINE (RobbyH14) FROM THIS TRACK, FEEL FREE TO DO SO, AS LONG AS YOU GIVE PROPER CREDIT IN YOUR README...THANKS:)****

TEXTURES-100% by me (RobbyH14)
MODELS-I made the white hydrobarriers, the PENDA sponsor boards, the two brown telephone poles, the big BF Goodrich tire (modified from Replica Fan's Carolina Crusher tire), the ramps, and I modified BF4X4's cars heavily. The stands, tent, hay bales, and orange cones are stock. The fences, light poles, and trailers I have no idea because they are used often and not everyone gives credit where it's due. If one of those is yours, I'll be glad to give credit where it's due:).
BETA TESTER-Betrayal88...Without his insight, I'm sure this track would not have turned out as well as it did...he brought back a lot of memories about PENDA, and made me want to give 110% on this, just like he does on every truck of his. Thanks go out to Betrayal for beta testing this puppy, and for being a fan of the PENDA series, even if he doesn't like Grave Digger;-).
