QUICK DATER V2.20
-----------------

Thank you for downloading Quick Dater version 2.20.
Quick Dater may be freely distributed as long as it has not been modified in any way (see License.txt).

Notepad users, please select "Word Wrap" in the "Edit" menu to view this document correctly.

--- INTRODUCTION
Basically, this application has been designed to change automatically your system's date prior to the execution of any program, and, after the program is closed, set back the system date to what it was before. THIS PROGRAM IS FREEWARE (see License.txt).

--- FEATURES
1) Easy-to-use and completely windows-integrated: no DOS-mode stuff.

2) Loading only on running selected applications: not automatically running when computer starts, avoiding system resources waste.

3) Quick and efficient coding: entirely written in low-level C without libraries, giving a small, fast-paced program.

4) No additional clicks when starting selected applications: just click on the link created by Quick Dater for the program you selected and don't bother about the rest.

--- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
* Windows 95, 98 or up. (does not work with Windows 3.1 or NT)
* Keyboard.

--- HOW TO USE
A) HOW TO SET UP QUICK DATER FOR A SELECTED PROGRAM

1) Unzip the downloaded zip file (probably "Qdater220.zip").

2) Run "Qdater.exe", located in the directory where you unzipped the downloaded file.

3) A window appears: select, in top right section, the drive and directory of the program you wish to start with a different date than your system's actual date.

4) Select, in the top left section, the program itself. Make sure you click twice on the program's title; a pop-up window appears, displaying "Application properly selected" and the exact location of the program. Click "OK". The pop-up window closes.

5) At the bottom of the main window, enter the date you want Quick Dater to set automatically prior to the execution of the previously selected program. It should contain a four-digit year ("YYYY" for example "1999"), a two-digit month ("MM" for example "05") and a two-digit day ("DD" for example "27"). It will give you something like "1999 05 27".

6) In "File" menu, click "Save". A pop-up window appears, displaying "Info has been saved" and the name of the .qdt file Quick Dater has created. Click "OK". The pop-up window closes.

B) HOW TO USE A PROGRAM ONCE QUICK DATER HAS BEEN SET

1) Find the directory of the program you have previously set with Quick Dater.

2) You will see a new file with the .qdt extension. Its icon will represent an hourglass over a window. Run this file. A pop-up window appears, saying "Now running program" and the exact location of the program. Click "OK". The program will open.

3) Once you are done with what you wanted to do, just close the program like you normally would. Quick Dater will automatically set your system's date back to what it was before.

NOTE: Please note that you may change the location of the previously mentioned .qdt file without affecting the functioning of Quick Dater. For example, you might want to place it in the "Start" menu, on your desktop or in the "Quick Launch" bar to have a faster access to the selected program.

--- HOW TO UNINSTALL
If you ever want to unistall Quick Dater, just delete the directory where you installed it.

--- BUGS FIXED SINCE VERSION 2.00
The problem with date reseting on multiple programs opening does no longer exist.
A new error introduced in version 2.10 concerning date resetting on .qdt file creation has been fixed.
The annoying error with date resetting is now fixed: your computer clock won't delay anymore after using Qdater.
