Update (20/10/03). It's been a while since the last update but there's been no shortage of things going on, so I thought I better let you in on some of the action.

Update (14/09/03). Please note that karf.net is due to expire. As such, all karf e-mail addresses will stop functioning. So, please update your address books to phineus@mtm2.com and/or phineus@rhinoseros.com as well as malibu350@mtm2.com and/or malibu350@hinoseros.com. This should mark the completion of the changeover to rhinoseros.com.

Update (13/09/03). That's a wrap. Expo 2003 winner details are on the expo page. Great job by everybody who entered work, and thanks to those who just followed along.

Update (05/08/03). The mtm2.com expo 2003 is now officially closed. Please see the expo page for the details. Good luck to all who entered.

Update (20/07/03). Merged the rumbles with the main track listing, so search and sorts cover the entire bunch now. Also, HaC has a huge list of first rate work available on his new track page. Be sure to check it out, and say hi on his forum.

Update (14/06/03). Important news about the closing date on the expo page.

Update (16/05/03). It's been a while since the last update, so there's a couple things to mention. Firstly, the expo is in full swing and there's been several excellent submissions already. There's just over a month to go, so there's still time to put the polish to those projects. Next, there's a new main menu on the front page. If people like it, I'll add it to the other sections of the site, and maybe even to each page. Third, the forum has undergone major rennovations. Thanks to ubb for serving us well for four years. It's been great to use but four years is an eternity in computer life and it just can't keep up with newer things. The new address is http://forum.mtm2.com/ but you can still get to it through the old one (it now forwards to the new one). I have no plan to remove the old forum any time soon, so if there's any information that didn't carry over during the conversion, nothing has been lost. But please let's use the new one for any new topics. Let's hope we enjoy just as good a relationship with the new phpBB2 forum, which is just loaded with all sorts of nifty new features for you to play around with. Lastly, I'd like to extend best wishes to F-350 who's family has been experiencing hardships of late. Hang in there man. We all hope things turn around for you soon.

Update (21/03/03). The expo is now officially open. Of course, that means the clock is really starting to tick. Good luck to everybody.

Update (21/02/03). New error page format. Check the link on the menu.

Update (26/01/03). Added hellbender models to the models page, and included direct links to the Cart pages on the menu too. It still needs work but now that we're back on our own site things should start coming together again, even if slowly.

Update (24/01/03). A new and improved fixall.pod is now available. All fixes in one pod with many new fixes added. Download FixMore.zip (928k). It's the only one you need. Credits go to Yeastman, Winterkill, Drive2Survive, Malibu350 and everybody else who troubleshot and contributed on the forums and in e-mails.

Update (23/01/03). Working on a new menu system.

Update (09/01/03). We're contemplating another expo. What do you think?

Update (01/01/03). I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday. We here at the mtmg are looking forward to another great year of mtm fun. I've been refining the track and truck pages, and I even had some fun making an about page. It still needs formatting and all but since I'm taking notes, I figured I'd let yooz all in on the fun old screenshots. In the meantime, I'll continue smoothing out the site after the server change. It may still take a while but one day I hope (yea, I'm a dreamer) to have things looking snappy. Oh, and don't forget you can add the affiliate links to your web page too.

Update (03/12/02). Did somebody say trucks?

Update (30/11/02). jguy has provided us with three new track props: a construction train car and two versions of a picnic table. Get them from the custom transportation and misc2 model pages....and be sure to include them in your next track.

Update (23/11/02). Welp, we just went into the track hosting business. MTM2 Tracks Page. The aim is to keep your creations on the net for as long as possible.

Update (18/11/02). Pending a bit of fine tuning, the move to rhinoseros/mtm2.com is complete. I also updated the Affiliate Links.

Update (14/11/02). Update your bookmarks. The move is almost complete. rhinoseros.com/~mtmg or mtm2.com/~mtmg will be the new address from now on. The forum and track page are still to come but it shouldn't be long now. We hope the new site will be bigger, faster and better than ever before. Enjoy your stay and keep on monster truckin'

Update (09/07/02). Ooh aah, track page looks nicer than ever.

Update (30/06/02). Got my randomizer back on the track page, hehe.

Update (20/06/02). Good news! MTMG Tracks Page got an overhaul. Many thanks go out to SLO_Cope and the rest of the SLO team for helping with the garage settings (that was a huge undertaking that will benefit all racers), to Malibu350 for keeping up Burn's Record Page so we have all the fast laps, to RobbyH14 for single handedly taking care of all the drag and freestyle business, to the evo1 gang for offering tips and suggestions on good design layout, and of course to all the talented track makers who keep giving us the stuff that makes it all worth while. Related to this is that I gave the windows xp iis server the ol' heave ho (cheers and applause) and finally got red hat apache running and configured nicely. That means no more file leaches hogging all the bandwidth that prevent the rest of us from using the site. I've also decided to link the most recent updates directly to the karf.net server for faster downloads of the newest tracks (currently the top six are the only valid links, but more are coming so the page will be full agin in short order). Finally, I have a few scripting refinements to tend to then you can look forward to even more enhancements to the track page, and to the other sections here at the mtmg.

Update (16/06/02). Repealed.

Update (15/06/02). Utilities are back online. And Drive2Survive's sites have a slightly altered url: http://mtmx.cjb.net/~d2s/.

Update (12/06/02). Making a few server changes, so utility downloads may be out of order for a couple days. Sorry for the inconvenience. To make up for it the models have been mirrored on http://www.MW-Gaming.com/. Thanks to F350 for the generous space he's hosting for us.

Update (05/05/02). mtm2.com is now the property of karf.net and the mtmg. Think you'll be able to remember it?

Update (20/04/02). Podini, Sound and Music pages are back up. And the menus have been updated across the site to look consistent from everywhere.

Update (21/02/02). Binedit is back online. Trucks too.

Update. A few hours after that. Welp, no sooner thunk than done. The mtmg Tracks download page has been updated once again. What you now see is my very own first ever from scratch perl file manager script. Tada! Sure, you say, but what's the difference? Not much, I suppose...to use it. But as amazing a feat as the javascript version was, and it was amazing, it lacked the facility to update right on the page, on the fly. The perl version does all that and more. Maintaining the page just became light work. An enormous switch from manually editing those four humungous html pages, and a pleasant improvement over the javascript. The end result is that you may expect to see more frequent updates. Do I seem excited over this? Am I happy about things? Let's just say: "My name's in the phonebook!" Wow!

Update. Ten minutes later. Utilities are back on their own page. Gotta make room to join Twisted Metal's web ring (tho we gotta talk to him about those colors - either that, or it's just our luck to draw number thirteen). Believe it or not, but there is purpose behind the patch-work changes going on here lately.

Update (20/01/02). Two new splash pages. One for karf.net mtm2.com and one for the home server that's hosting all those files. In other news, I've been working on new scripts to help make the download pages work more efficiently. Should be up soon. You probably won't notice much difference, but, trust me, it'll make my life easier, which, in turn, usually benefits everybody else. And there's a few other changes, updates and improvements waiting just around the corner. Overall, looking alright.

Update. One day later. Due to popular demand, the Podzip, Slice60, and Texture Template pages have been put back on the server, without even matching them up with the new color styles. These are excellent utilities and resources so be sure to take advantage of each.

Update (09/01/02). Traxx Help has been revamped and put back on the web. Enjoy. Please let me know if you find any broken links. phineus@karf.net. Thanks.

Update (06/01/02). I've made some changes that should make using the site better. First, the track downloads have been restored (though if the server appears unavailable, please try again at a later time). And the model downloads have found a new home. I will keep the spaceports.com site up but those pop ups and frames make using it less than pleasant. Also, the "link to us" page is still active in case you still haven't put a, er, link to us, on your site. More, I'm playing around with some page styling and have reuploaded the error pages. Unfortunately, there are some compatibility issues and so it will look best in ie 5 or higher, and it will look a mess in netscape 4 or lower. I'll keep working on it, but if you know of a fix I'd love to hear from you. Lastly, Drive2Survive's truck tutorial is on-line and ad free. Check it out.

(Older news) The Guild continues to feel the server space squeeze and as a result has implemented a few changes.   All help files have been reconfigured as stand alone sections, reformatted for printer friendly off-line viewing, compressed into zip files, and made available for download.   I'm not convinced this arrangement will be permanent, but there should be no major inconvenience since nothing is missing and everything will continue to be available.   The savings will be considerable.   Make yourself an mtmg folder and unzipped everything to there.   You'll be all set.   The links pages and forums will stay on-line since that is the way they work.  Please see below for help file downloads as well as all referenced utilities.
